House, Surrey
The brief
Take an outdated end of terrace house and extend it to create an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space that makes the most of the garden view. Create a homeopathic clinic in the former front reception room, with WC tucked under the stairs, deperating clients from the home area.
The solution
A rear extension with skylight and huge sliding doors in powder coated aluminium, frame the enourmous view of the garden. The interior, in its understated by modern style, breathes space and air into the well-planned scheme. The understairs toilet borrows much needed space from the kitchen utility area to house the cistern, making the client area at the front self-contained.
