The brief
Create a layout that gives a usable version of a two bedroom, two bathroom space. Restore the main reception room to its former use rather than two narrow bedrooms. Create an elegant and calm oasis.
The solution
By extending the cramped understairs toilet into the hallway to create an L-shaped wet room, the former bathroom area was rebuilt to house the kitchen and ensuite bath. This enabled the former kitchen to become a guest bedroom, the former living room to become the master bedroom, and the front room to be restored to a magnificent living and dining space.
